Utility Forces Complete 8th Street Filter
Discharge Retention Pond Project

Utility forces, acting as the General
Contractor, have completed a percolation pond project that
will manage the District’s backwash water for the 8th
Street well site filtration system. |

The on-site disposal system will eliminate
the low threat discharge of backwash rinse water from a
drainage pump station inlet. |
|
|
The project was required as a result of a
RWQCB order to eliminate the discharge from entering the
drainage system that conveys storm water to the bay.

The project, estimated at $75,000, was
completed in-house by the Los Osos Community Services
District Utility crew for under $58,000.
