Preparing for Winter Storms

Some areas in Los Osos have a history of flooding, especially during heavy rains. The LOCSD is committed to addressing these flooding problems, working to provide information and solutions, and to promote assistance for resident’s impacted by storm water flows.

The LOCSD provides free sand for sandbags at three stock pile sites that include: the intersection of Broderson & Skyline, the CDF Los Osos Station 15 on South Bay Blvd, and the Utilities Water Yard located at 8th and El Moro.  Sandbags are available for purchase at our cost for 25¢ each, and can be found at the LOCSD main office at 2122 9th Street.

Residents are encouraged to take proactive prevention measures and should be aware of any possible flooding areas located in the vicinity of their property.   Call the Utilities Department at 528-9376 for further questions.
